Verification standard

How we verify

A visible source trail is more useful than a vague trust badge. Our method starts with classification, checks authoritative sources, states limits, and keeps commercial content outside the editorial summary.

1. Identify the exact thing

We start with the generic name or active ingredient, then record relevant brand names, route or form, and regulatory category. Similar names do not guarantee identical ingredients or labeling.

2. Find the highest-value source

Depending on the profile, that may include current DailyMed labeling, FDA material, MedlinePlus consumer drug information, NIH evidence summaries, or a professional guideline. Manufacturer marketing is not treated as independent evidence.

3. Separate purpose

Pain relief, inflammation control, disease modification, gout-flare management, long-term urate lowering, local procedures, and complementary approaches are different purposes. The library does not flatten them into one treatment list.

4. Preserve uncertainty

When evidence is mixed, product-specific, low quality, or guideline-dependent, the page says so. “Clinically tested” is not accepted as a complete conclusion without the study and claim context.

5. Show the commercial status

Every profile states whether it is independent or sponsored. At launch, all profiles are independent and no sponsored product placement is published.

6. Date and correct

Pages show a source-check date and link to the correction process. Label or guideline changes can require an update. A source check is not described as medical review.

Current scope: Editorial source review only. BeatJointPain.com does not claim that a physician, pharmacist, or other clinician independently reviewed the launch pages.
